Andres at Ironman Florida 2025

About Me

It's a Pleasure to Meet You

Hi, I'm Andres — a 42-year-old software developer living in Clermont, Florida. I'm an amateur triathlete, not a pro, coach, or someone trying to sell you a dream. This blog is simply my space to share the real, unfiltered experience of discovering triathlons and how they've transformed my life.

My journey began in 2021 when my sister-in-law challenged me to run a 5k. At the time, I was 25 pounds overweight, dealing with a condition called Haglund's deformity, and had essentially given up on sports. That one decision changed everything.

From struggling to complete a single mile on a treadmill to training for an Ironman, this blog documents the highs, the lows, the injuries, the friendships, and every lesson in between. I write about the people who inspired me, the coaches who shaped me, and the strategies that keep me going.

Whether you're a fellow triathlete, someone curious about the sport, or just looking for a bit of motivation — welcome. I hope my stories resonate with you.

Here, you'll find honest reflections on training, racing, and the mental game. This isn't about perfection — it's about progress, consistency, and enjoying the journey.

Happy training!
